Macksime was born out of necessity. Our days are long and our nights are busy. We were fed up with carrying two, sometimes three bags, at a time.
Macksime was founded in 2020 by New York City-based designer Melissa Featherstone. Melissa utilized her expertise in both fashion design and wardrobe styling to create the aesthetic and product line that is Macksime.
Originally trained as an apparel designer, Melissa took many months to study the process of leather tanning.
Once she learned how toxic the processes typically used by the leather industry can be, finding eco-conscious, sustainable vendors became paramount.
